Lucknow: School assemblies across Uttar Pradesh are set to get a musical and technology-driven makeover, with 12 inspirational prayers being developed in video format for use in basic and secondary schools.
The initiative is being taken under the guidance of Additional Chief Secretary, Basic and Secondary Education, Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma, with the objective of making school prayer assemblies more engaging, organised and meaningful while promoting discipline, creativity and positive values among students.
A workshop for music teachers and students was organised at the State Institute of Educational Technology (SIET) auditorium in Nishatganj on Wednesday. The workshop was held under the direction of SIET Director Dr Mukesh Chandra and focused on music production, recording and the use of technology in preparing the prayer material.
Dr Chandra said the initiative aims to ensure that schools across the state have access to quality musical and inspirational prayer content. Twelve prayers will be recorded with the participation of music teachers and students from the Lucknow division. The recordings will undergo technical editing before being released as final video content.
The workshop featured live demonstrations of studio recording, karaoke technology, lyrics display systems and audio mixing. Participants also practised group singing and discussed the implementation of the prayers in school assemblies.
The final videos will be made available through digital platforms, including YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, allowing schools and teachers to use the material during morning assemblies.
The 12 prayers selected for the project include Itni Shakti Hamein Dena Data, Humko Man Ki Shakti Dena, Ae Malik Tere Bande Hum, Teri Hai Zameen Tera Aasman, O Paalanhaare, Tumhi Ho Mata Pita Tumhi Ho, Tu Pyar Ka Sagar Hai, Jyoti Se Jyoti Jalate Chalo, Baadal Pe Paon Hai, Insaaf Ki Dagar Pe, Hum Honge Kamyab and Aao Bachchon Tumhein Dikhayen.
After the workshop, music teachers and students were taken on a tour of the SIET studio and briefed about various technical aspects of recording. Lucknow Division Joint Director of Education Dr Pradeep Kumar shared suggestions on real-time recording. Science Progress Officer Dr Dinesh Kumar was also present, while Administrative Officer Ajit Singh coordinated the workshop.
